'If My Son Did What Michael Adebolajo Did, I Would Be Happy': Hate Preacher Omar Bakri Muhammad Says He Is Proud Of Lee Rigby Killer

 

A hate preacher says he would be 'proud' if his son killed a man like Lee Rigby's murderer Michael Adebolajo.

Omar Bakri Muhammad said if his son, who was sitting on his father's knee during the interview, grew up and killed a soldier he would be 'happy'.

Adebolajo attended and spoke at the radical group Al-Muhajiroun's demonstrations after joining the group in 2003. He also changed his name to Mujahid, meaning ‘one who engages in jihad’.

Over the following years he cropped up again and again at Islamist events.

Channel 4 News reports Omar Bakri Muhammad, the former leader of Al-Muhajiroun, said he was proud of the killer.

He said: 'I've got a son, if he did what Michael did I would be happy.'  Muhammad is living in Tripoli, Lebanon, after leaving the UK because he believed he would be arrested. 

He said that Adebolajo, 29, was a 'quiet, shy person' looking for answers.

Muhammad said he did not feel sympathy for Lee Rigby and was 'proud' of what Adebolajo did.

The interview provoked criticism from people on Twitter who said Channel 4 should not be giving the preacher 'oxygen'.

Former MP Tony McNulty said: 'C4 interview with Omar Bakri Mohammed just disgraceful - why give this idiot any oxygen of publicity at all - total puff interview. Woeful.'

The journalist who recorded the interview, Paraic O'Brien, replied: 'Disagree. His inability to engage with LeeRigby as a human/Dad told us lots about the radical mindset.'

He also added: 'Thanks for all feedback.I know many disagree but I felt Bakri's inability to engage with personal tragedy & his online reach = newsworthy.'

As Adebolajo was convicted of murder, he refused to show any remorse.

During the trial, he told Lee Rigby’s family how he will never regret killing the fusilier because he is a ‘soldier of Allah’.

Adebolajo kissed the Koran when he and Adebowale were convicted of murdering Fusilier Rigby at the end of an astonishing four-week Old Bailey trial.

The victim’s parents, estranged wife and fiancée were overcome with emotion as the jury of eight women and four men returned their verdicts in just 90 minutes.

His mother Lyn and sister Sara sobbed as others hugged.

Mr Justice Sweeney told of his gratitude and admiration for the soldier’s family who, he said, had shown great dignity throughout the most harrowing of evidence.

Chris Brown Judge Revokes Probation

Chris Brown is in trouble ... again. The judge in the Rihanna beating case has just REVOKED his probation because of the fresh assault charges filed in Washington D.C.

Brown was in court for a progress hearing. The judge felt the criminal complaint in D.C. is enough proof that Chris did NOT obey all laws ... which he's required to do while on probation

The judge did not remand Chris into custody, because hizzoner was impressed by Chris' progress in his anger management rehab. The judge will hold a hearing on the matter in February, and it's possible he could sentence Chris to time in the pokey.

The judge also ordered Chris NOT to use medical marijuana for the time being. Brown was popped in Oct. for felony assault -- later reduced to a misdemeanor -- and the L.A. County Probation Dept. launched an investigation.

Lawyer & Friend Die Mysteriously In Traffic In Asaba, Delta State

A lawyer and a man, believed to be one of his workers, were found dead this morning in a Toyota Camry car after the popular Inter-Bau Roundabout in Asaba, Delta State. The engine of the car was still on and the air conditioner was also on when the incident happened.

The were found dead by passersby who saw that the car wasnt moving and the occupants were on standstill. No one knew the cause of their death. But some people who identified the man said, he mostly dealt with land matters and was  returning from a court session.

Khloe Kardashian is filing for divorce from Lamar Odom today according to TMZ.

Sources say Khloe will be citing irreconcilable differences in her legal docs. The split should be pretty cut and dry -- an ironclad prenup which kept all their assets separate ... and no kids.

As was reported in the media, Lamar's bizarre freestyle rap video -- in which he brags about cheating on Khloe -- was the last straw in their crumbling relationship.   Immediately after the video leaked online  last month, Khloe stopped wearing her wedding ring.

The end was a long time coming for Lamar and Khloe  who tied the knot in September 2009.  Khloe had expressed dire concerns about the marriage ever since she learned about Lamar's crack addiction earlier this year, but she forestalled divorce for fear he'd OD or worse.

Supreme Court Quashes Corruption Conviction Of PDP Chieftain Bode George

 

Two days after former President Olusegun Obasanjo accused President Goodluck Jonathan of condoning corruption, a panel of judges at the Supreme Court of Nigeria today quashed the conviction handed Bode George a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain earlier jailed for corruption by a Lagos High Court.

 The court discharged and acquitted Mr. Georger claiming that the prosecutors at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had no evidence of Mr. George's intention to commit fraud at the Nigeria Port Authority where he was caught presiding over a contract bazaar the bled the nation of Nigeria.

 A panel of judges headed by a controversial judge, John Afolabi Fabiyi JSC, ruled that the charges of "contract splitting" upon which Mr. George was convicted is unknown to law.

 The pattern of quashing the conviction was similar to the Court of Appeal quashing of murder

charges levied against former Chief Security Officer of late maximum dictator, Sanni Abacha with the same lawyer, former Nigeria Bar Association, J B Daudu playing a lead role in securing Mr. George's freedom today.

 Since leaving prison a few years ago, Mr. George had been closely linked to President Jonathan, even openly bragging that his conviction will be upturned.

Paul Walker Family Believes Road Bumps Caused The Accident That Took His Life

Paul Walker died after the speeding Porsche in which he was riding hydroplaned on reflective plastic markers in the street ... at least that's what his family and accident reconstruction experts believe.

Sources close to Paul's family tell TMZ ... the family has been in touch with stunt experts who have gone to the crash site and come back with what they believe is a solid theory -- a speeding car that hits the plastic markers -- called Botts' Dots -- will hydroplane, causing the driver to lose control.

And there's this ... Porsche sent out a memo to dealers back in 2004, warning about control problems with the Carrera GT, saying, "This vehicle cannot drive over a Foster Beer can that is lying on its side.  It will crush the can and damage the carbon fiber under panels," adding, "You need to be aware of what type of road surface you are on (dips, pot holes, seam heights, etc.)."

The severely disfigured man whose full-body tumours were lovingly kissed by the Pope has told MailOnline the moving story of his life.

Vinicio Riva, from Vicenza in northern Italy, is covered from head-to-toe in painful growths, a symptom of his genetic disease neurofibromatosis, passed down to him by his late mother.

Earlier this month the 53-year-old's picture spread across the world when he was warmly embraced by Pope Francis at one of the pontiff's weekly audiences in St Peter's Square.

In an  interview with MailOnline, the brave man has described meeting the head of the Catholic church, saying that being caressed by Pope Francis made his heart beat so fast he thought he 'would die'.

The pontiff's hug was 'like paradise', he said, adding: 'He didn't even think about whether or not to hug me.

'I'm not contagious, but he didn't know that. But he just did it: he caressed me all over my face, and as he did I felt only love.'

Mr Riva recollected: 'He came down from the altar to see the sick people. He embraced me without saying a word. I felt as though my heart was leaving my body.

'He was completely silent but sometimes you can say more when you say nothing.'

'First, I kissed his hand while with the other hand he caressed my head and wounds. Then he drew me to him in a strong embrace, kissing my face.

'My head was against his chest his arms were wrapped around me. It lasted just over a minute, but to me it seemed like an eternity.'

Moment A Nude Woman Walked Onto Chicago Train, Announced She Was A Goddess And Headed To The Front To Drive

A naked woman shocked train commuters in Chicago on Saturday when she jumped the turnstile and declared she was the ‘Goddess of the Train’ and planned to take over the train.

The unidentified woman appeared at the Granville station of Chicago’s Red Line, the Chicago Transit Authority's busiest line, in her birthday suit.

She then slapped several commuters before heading to the front of the train with the intent to drive it.

According to eyewitnesses, the 31-year-old ordered all passengers off, causing a 15-to-30-minute delay in service.

Police arrived at the scene around 12:45 pm and escorted the woman off the train, said DNAInfo Chicago.

The woman was taken to St Francis Hospital in Evanston for evaluation.

A police spokeswoman said the woman suffers from a mental illness, but would not specify which one.

A Chinese Woman Tries To Commit Suicide After Argument With Husband

A  Chinese man managed to catch his suicidal wife at the moment she decided to jump from the balcony of tower block in Changjiang, southern Hainan Island in China. According to the man, they were arguing when his wife suddenly went to leap from the balcony.

He rushed forward and was able to grab one of her legs – leaving her dangling over the drop below with her trousers half pulled off. He managed to hold onto her for ten minutes before emergency services arrived to assist him to pull her back to safety. She was later transferred to the hospital after her family  comforted  her. .

STRANGE AFFAIR: Husband, Wife & Lover Living Under The SAME ROOF

When mum-of-two Maria Butzki left her husband Paul for another man, she didn’t realise how much she’d miss him.

At the same time, she couldn’t imagine living without her new lover Peter Gruman.

So when the two men struck up an extraordinary friendship, she came up with the perfect solution... and moved Peter into the family home in Barking, East London.

Now Maria, 33, Paul, 37, their two children, Laura, 16, and Amy, 12, and Peter, 36, live as one big happy family.

“People might think it’s weird but I love both men and couldn’t choose between them,” says Maria, a housing liaison officer.

“When I left Paul there was a huge hole in my life. But the thought of never seeing Peter again was heartbreaking. So living with both men is the only way.”

Incredibly, the men agree. Paul, a railway assessor, says: “Peter is a great guy. When Maria first had the affair with him I was just heartbroken.

"But as I got to know him, I realised we have so much in common. We both adore fishing, and he’s like a surrogate dad to the kids.”

Peter, a construction site manager, adds: “We all get on so well. It doesn’t feel as if I’m sharing Maria. There’s no jealousy ...it feels as if we area team.”

It was last year that they all moved in together after three years of Maria to-ing and fro-ing between her husband and lover.

Peter sleeps on the sofa while Paul has a room upstairs. Maria shares a bedroom with her eldest daughter.

She says: “The three of us never share a bed. Although I have a sexual relationship with each man, that side is kept very private.

"If Paul is out, then Peter and I might make love, and vice-versa. But both men turn a blind eye and we never discuss it with one another.”

Maria was 15 when she and Paul met at school. After dating for two years, she unexpectedly became pregnant.

Paul proposed seven months into her term and a month later they married. Four years after the birth of Laura, Maria had their second daughter Amy.

But in 2006 their marriage hit a rocky patch.

Maria says: “Paul was out of work for six months and it put a strain on our relationship. The stress led to less sex and we grew apart.

"Although we carried on with life – cooking, cleaning, looking after the children – we’d lost our intimacy. The relationship was more brother and sister than a couple.”

Around the same time a new manager, Peter, started at Maria’s workplace.

“Someone introduced me to Peter and when we smiled at one another, I could feel the chemistry straight away,” she says.

“Until that moment, I’d been happily married for 13 years to my childhood sweetheart and had never thought about being with another man.”

Peter, who was also married at the time, recalls the same instant attraction. “It was like a bolt from the blue... love at first sight,” he says.

Soon the pair were meeting secretly. “We’d meet at the local pub for lunch,” says Maria.

“One day he put a hand on my leg and my whole body began trembling with desire. I knew it was wrong but soon we were sleeping together.”

Their affair carried on for a year before Paul stumbled on messages between them on Maria’s phone.

She managed to convince him they were just friends. But a few months later her lover left his wife and moved from Luton, Beds, to be closer to Maria in Barking.

“I grew even closer to Peter,” says Maria. “Paul had to go away on business for a few weeks and so Peter took the children shopping, spoiling them rotten with gifts.”

But on Valentine’s Day in 2010, Maria says she could no longer cope with the secrecy.

“I began to feel more and more that my future lay with Peter,” she says. “So I confessed my affair to Paul, and moved out to stay with Peter.”

Paul and the children were devastated. He says: “I was just shocked and heartbroken. I couldn’t believe Maria had left me.”

Over the next few months Paul and Maria took turns to have the children. “I felt bad about tearing the family apart,” says Maria.

“So after work I’d go and clean and cook for Paul and the kids and then go home to Peter.”

Paul says: “While I was so upset, I decided to try to put the children first. It was going to be much better if we could all be mature adults and be amicable about it.

"I could see Peter was a decent guy. When the kids went to stay over I knew he was putting himself out to make sure they were happy.

"I’d go to pick them up and we got chatting.”

Over the next year their relationship became even more amicable.

Maria says: “Rather than cook two separate dinners, it was easier to just do one and all sit down together.

"Paul and Peter got on so well they went on a fishing trip together. We even started going on days out and holidays together.

“It was strange but I noticed I felt at my happiest when we were all together. The children adored having both of them around too.”

Then in November 2012 the tenancy on Peter’s rented flat came to an end. He went to stay with a friend and Maria moved back to the family home.

Maria says: “It was supposed to be a temporary arrangement but while I missed Peter terribly, it was fantastic to be back as a family.”

When Peter found another flat, Maria decided it was time to sit both men down and be honest with them. “I said I loved them both,” she says.

“I said I couldn’t face living without either of them.”

Peter says: “By now Paul and I had developed a huge respect for each other. We didn’t see one another as rivals for Maria’s affections.

"We were friends who got on well. At the same time I’d come to care so much for the children. It seemed natural to live together.”

Paul says: “Maria was and still is my soulmate.”

The “family” are now in the process of buying a larger house to accommodate them all.

Maria admits many friends and family find the arrangement difficult to understand.

 “Some people are shocked, mostly because they get the wrong idea and think it’s some sort of threesome,” she says.

“Most people seem to think I should just remain with Paul, but those who see all of us together think differently.”

She adds: “There are huge benefits to living together. For example, as Paul and I leave for work early, Peter is often able to take the children to school.

“Ultimately the children benefit from three adults able to help with school work or give them lifts. Financially too, it makes sense as the bills are split three ways.”

Ironically, Maria is now the one who sometimes gets jealous. “I’m left on my own when the pair of them go on a long fishing trip,” she says.

She’s unsure what the sleeping arrangements will be in their new house.

“But we would never have any sort of rota where I sleep with Peter one night and Paul the next.

"I do know I’m very lucky to have two wonderful men in my life.”

Her life may be an open book, but Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had made it clear it would not be the same for their baby.

Despite Kanye's wishes to keep himself and daughter North off the reality star's show and out of the public eye as much as possible, on Tuesday Kim had a change of heart and posted not one, but two pictures of their growing girl on Instagram.

Until now there had only been two pictures of the five-month-old's face but in quick succession North's famous mother posted two new images for her more than 11 million Instagram followers to see.

Chinese Mother Forces Her Son, 4, To Drink Petrol Then Sets Him And Her Husband On Fire 'Because She Was Not Treated With Respect'

A Chinese boy is fighting for his life after his mother forced him to drink petrol and then set him on fire.

Authorities said the four-year-old was abused then torched in a grotesque plot by his mother to get revenge on her husband who she felt was not treating her with the 'proper respect'.

The tragedy happened in the city of Jinhua in Zhejiang province in the east of China.

Neighbours said that the woman and her husband were frequently arguing about money.

The woman, 40-year-old Shen Dan, and the man, 48-year-old Zhang Qiusheng, were both divorced and had then married each other.

Before their marriage, Zhang lived with her daughter, Zhang Mengting, who is a college student now.

After they were married Zhang and Shen had their own son, a boy called Duoduo.

But the two were always rowing about money. At the start of this month the woman - after a particularly heated argument - had left the apartment to return with a can of petrol.

She had then tried to force her son to drink it but had only been partially successful as the boy had tried to fight once the first sip had gone into his mouth.

As his father tried to intervene, she dragged the boy towards the naked flame on the gas stove, spilling petrol over all three of them - and they then all caught fire.

Despite the burns, the father rushed with the boy into the living room where he wrapped his head in a blanket to extinguish the flames. The boy is now in intensive care.

Doctors say the boy has 35 per cent burns mainly over his head, but also that his lungs had been badly damaged from the petrol and the flames.

Even if he survives they say he will almost certainly not be able to speak and will most likely be blind.

The woman and her husband were also hospitalised with 15 per cent burns over their body.

The woman faces criminal charges once the police investigation is complete - but for Zhang his world has ended.

He said: 'I just can't understand it, she had disputes with me about money and she was so furious and angry that she felt the need to lash out by injuring that which was most important to me - my darling son. He's her son too, I just don't understand it.

'I hope I never have to see her again - I will certainly be getting a divorce soon as I can get out of here and find a lawyer.'

Chinese Businessman 'Slaughtered Family-Of-Four With Kitchen Knife In Revenge Attack After Working Relationship Between Couples Soured'

A Chinese businessman murdered a family of four with ‘ruthless efficiency’ in order to ‘avenge himself’ after a business relationship turned sour, a court heard today.

Anxiang Du, 55, is accused of killing Manchester Metropolitan University lecturer Jifeng ‘Jeff’ Ding, his wife, Ge ‘Helen’ Chui, and their two daughters, Xing ‘Nancy’ 18, and Alice, 12.

Du armed himself with a kitchen knife and stabbed the family to death in their own home on April 29 2011, the day of the royal wedding, the jury at Northampton Crown Court was told.

William Harbage QC said: ‘The prosecution case is that this defendant, Anxiang Du, on the day of the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, on April 29, 2011, travelled to Northampton from his home in Coventry, via Birmingham, armed with a kitchen knife, and savagely stabbed to death firstly the two people, Mr and Mrs Ding, with whom he had been having a long-running legal dispute.

‘Not content with killing them, the mother and father, in the kitchen of their own home, he then went upstairs to find their two daughters, Nancy aged 18 and Alice aged 12, cowering in a bedroom. He cold-bloodedly stabbed them to death as well.’

Mr Harbage told the court, which contained members of Mrs Ding’s family who had travelled from China to be present for the trial, that each member of the family had sustained many wounds, some of which had penetrated the chest cavity causing fatal damage to the heart and lungs.

Kardashian Family Sells Old Lingerie, Clothing, To Raise Money For Charity

Kim Kardashian's bra is capable of supporting a whole lot more than her boobs ... it's also helping support U.S. military families.

The Kardashians organized the charity yard sale yesterday -- for their reality show, natch -- to raise money for two charities -- the No Kid Hungry Foundation and the Greater L.A. Fisher house -- which provides housing for families of wounded warriors.

Our Kardashian peeps tell TMZ  that  the family raised about $6K by selling their old lingerie, clothing, artwork and household goods ... and the family will match the loot so the total take is $12K.

Tim Byk, founder and exec. director of Fisher House, tells us, "They reached out to us, they found us. Maybe they will make it over to the house for a pizza party."

Cash aside ... we're told the Kardashians are also donating all the items that didn't sell yesterday ... to the Fisher House families.

Justin Bieber Faces Arrest In Brazil After He is Caught Spraying 'Bielibers 4 life' Graffiti on Hotel Wall

Justin Bieber is wanted by police in Rio de Janeiro for spraying a hotel wall with graffiti.   A  police spokesman said the Canadian could be arrested when he next tries to enter Brazil. The singer, 19, along with friends and bodyguards, was seen spraying the wall in the city's upmarket district of Sao Conrado at around 3am on Tuesday morning.

As well as childish drawings of faces and baseball caps, the teen star scribbled phrases such as 'Bielibers 4 life' and 'respect privacy' on the side of the private property.

The hotel - which is being renovated - was bought by a group of Brazilian businessman in 2009 for around £23 million.

Local newspaper photographers trying to take pictures of the Canadian idol reportedly had to call police after being attacked by members of the singer's entourage.

One paparazzo claimed he was left half-naked after having his clothes ripped off by Bieber's bodyguards.

Another's car was reportedly pelted with bricks they had ripped from the cobblestone pavement.

The singer was later reported to have stuck up his middle finger and shouted 'suck my d***' to photographers trying to snap him in the act.

Graffiti is a considered a crime of vandalism in Brazil which carries a jail sentence of between three months to one year.

According to civil police chief Antonio Ricardo, officers tried to locate the Canadian after he left the wall at around 6am.

An inquiry has been started into the 'act of vandalism' by the singer after he defaced the side of a £23 million hotel in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Last night, officers entered the private mansion rented by Bieber during his stay in Brazil, but the singer had already left the country.

Today Bieber's Brazilian bodyguards were giving statements at a police station in Rio's Gavea district after the hotel's owners confirmed they had not given the singer permission for the graffiti.

He is now in Paraguay, where he will perform in capital Asuncion tonight.

Nigerian-UK Student Sentenced To Jail In UK For Battering Paramedic

A paramedic was hurled against the window of an ambulance and punched repeatedly in the head until he lost consciousness by the drunken thug he had been trying to treat.

In a depressing indictment of modern Britain, Akinwunmi Akinyuwa attacked Qasam Pervez as they were travelling to hospital in the early hours of the morning.

The 29-year-old student, who had been found slumped and intoxicated in a communal stairwell at his home, began shouting ‘angel of death’ before unstrapping himself from the stretcher.

He then threw Mr Pervez against the window so he hit his head on the glass before reigning blows on the back of his head as he lay defenceless on the floor.

Akinyuwa, of Blackfriars in Salford, fled the ambulance when it came to a halt. He was arrested the next day.

He pleaded guilty to assault when he appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Barry Cuttle, defending, said the Nigerian-born defendant, was ‘deeply ashamed and deeply sorry’ for his actions.

He said: 'This man has made the first mistake of his life and is deeply upset.'

Akinyuwa, who is studying a management course at college, cannot remember anything about the October 22 attack after getting drunk while celebrating his birthday with friends.

DMX Arested For Again For Driving With a Suspended Licence

Rapper DMX has been   arrested again  for three offenses while driving at the airport in South Carolina.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ  that  DMX -- aka Earl Simmons -- was pulled over by cops at the airport in Spartanburg, SC and nailed for driving on a suspended license, driving while uninsured, and driving an unlicensed vehicle.

A rep for the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport says officers noticed DMX as soon as he pulled up to the terminal -- and were apparently well versed on his track record.

X is familiar with the suspended license charge -- he's been slapped with that one multiple times. His most recent busts were for allegedly possessing weed (in Aug.) ... and an alleged DUI (in July).

DMX is still in custody, and will have to see a judge -- with whom he's probably on a first name basis -- before he can get out.

Mike Tyson to Chris Brown: STOP PUNCHING PEOPLE ... Or Else

Mike Tyson is worried about Chris Brown ... he thinks the pop star is too violent ... and if he doesn't cut the crap, CB is going to pay a very serious price.

Tyson was a guest on the 95.5 PLJ Morning Show this morning ... when the gang asked if Mike, who's battled anger issues in the past, had any advice for Chris -- and Tyson delivered.

"I like and admire that little guy," Tyson said ... adding, "I'm just worried about him."

Tyson says he knows from experience that if Chris doesn't learn to control his rage issues, people will turn on him -- and "they're gonna put him somewhere where that's all they do is assault people."

We're guessing he means prison.  Tyson ends with this gem: "Chris should know this ... if you're not humble in this world, this world will dress humbleness upon you."

Ciara and Rapper Boyfriend, Future are Engaged

In January it emerged they were dating. And now Ciara is engaged to marry rapper Future after he sprang a surprise proposal as they celebrated her birthday.

The hip hop star and producer got down on one knee after producing a stunning 15-carat diamond ring.

Their publicist Chris Chambers confirmed the news to the Associated Press, saying she was already celebrating her 28th birthday in New York when he proposed.

In his role as a producer he has collaborated with stars including Rihanna and his future wife, who he has been dating for a year.

Future, real name Nayvadius D. Wilburn, is currently in the middle of a tour with Canadian hip hop superstar Drake.

The 29-year-old's private life is not without controversy however, as he fathered a son in 2001 with Jessica Smith.

In 2012 she filed for child support, with a DNA test confirming he is the father.  He subsequently legally recognized the son as his and was ordered to pay $1662 in child support each month.

Michael Jackson's Former Doctor, Conrad Murray Freed From Prison

Dr. Conrad Murray has been freed after serving a 2-year jail sentence for killing Michael Jackson.

According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. ... Murray was released shortly after midnight Monday morning .However, he did not make a triumphant walk out of jail instead, he choose to sneak out away from photogs who had gathered outside.

By remaining unseen ... Murray obviously knows he raises the price tag of that coveted first interview with him.

The good doc has been locked up since November  2011 after being convicted of manslaughter. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison ... but 2 is normal for a 4-year sentence.

When three-year-old Ikeoluwa Olaniyi was playing with her friends in her grandfather’s compound in Ire Akari Estate, Isolo, Lagos, on September 3, 2013, little did she know that death was lurking.

PUNCH Metro learnt that a teenage motorist, Chinyere Wagbaranta, in company with her brother, Chisom, and a police corporal attached to Police Mobile Force 22, Felix Adebayo, in a Mercedes Benz Sports Utility Vehicle, drove into the compound carelessly, hitting the little girl and crushing her skull.

The victim’s grandfather, Adesola Elegbede, who spoke to our correspondent while fighting back tears, said Ikeoluwa was his first grandchild.

He said, “Ikeoluwa lives with me and my wife. Her father works in a bank and her mother works with an accounting firm, which are both located on Victoria Island. Ikeoluwa attends a school in Ilasa, which is not far from our house. She stays with her parents during the weekend.

“On the day of the incident, I came in and saw her eating yam just outside the main door and told her to go inside. A few minutes later, I wanted to go to my friend who lives a few houses away from mine and Ikeoluwa attempted to follow me but she met some of her friends playing in the compound so she joined them.

“A few minutes later, I heard a loud scream that Ikeoluwa had been crushed by a vehicle in the compound. I ran to the scene and observed that the side of her head had been crushed. I saw the vehicle that hit her but the occupants had fled. I carried my granddaughter to Good Health Hospital, where she was declared dead.”

Elegbede said he immediately ran to the Isolo Police Division to report the matter and it was there that he met the culprits.

He said Chinyere drove recklessly into the compound because she was on a mission to fight one of his neighbours.

He said, “I was told that Chinyere and her brother hired the Police Mobile Force member, who is attached to a bank in the area, to escort them to our compound to fight one of my neighbour’s children.

“They drove recklessly from Ire Akari Road into my compound and after crushing my little girl, the armed MOPOL aided them in escaping from the scene.”

The grandfather said four days after the incident, Chinyere’s parents, in company with the Divisional Police Officer, Isolo, Adamu Ibrahim, and a chief in the area came to apologise over the incident, urging him not to pursue the case.

Elegbede, however, berated the police for not handling the case professionally.

He said, “When they came to visit me four days later, I was shocked that the DPO escorted them to my place. Why should the DPO be pleading on their behalf, telling me it was the will of God? Anyway, I told them to go and beg Ikeoluwa’s parents because I am not her father.

“On September 9, the DPO called me again saying the Area D Commander at Mushin wanted to see all the parties involved but on getting there, the DPO told us to return to his own station.

“When I noticed that the case was not being handled properly, I asked the DPO to transfer the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, but he refused to do this.

“I am aware that Chinyere is 18 years old and is an adult. I have already started hearing that the police want to manipulate her age, get her a fake affidavit and give her a soft-landing. I will not accept this.”

The victim’s grandfather said life had not been the same since the incident occurred.

While pointing to the spot where his granddaughter’s blood was shed, he said, “I cannot believe this. We are still in shock. Her mother has had to take leave from work and travel out of the country to take her mind off things. Imagine us losing such a pleasant and brilliant girl?”

When contacted on the telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the accident to our correspondent.

Braide said the matter was reported as a fatal car accident and that Chinyere had been charged to court.

Baby Girls SWITCHED At Birth Reunited Three Weeks Later After Their Mothers Accidentally Meet In Parenting Class And Realize The Mistake

Two Argentine mothers have been reunited with their newborn daughters after spending three weeks unknowingly nursing and caring for each other's children who had been switched at birth.

For Maria Lorena Gerbeno, 37, a lawyer from San Juan, it all started as a nagging suspicion that something was off about her baby daughter.

Both she and Veronica Tejada gave birth to healthy girls September 30 at the Sanatorio Argentino, a private clinic in San Juan.

Gerbeno, who also has two older children, delivered her daughter via C-section and was told by her doctors right after that her baby weighed 6lbs 8 ounces, AFP reported via Santa Cruz Sentinel.

However, when the newborn was later handed to her, staffers at the clinic said that she weighed nearly 8lbs 4 ounces and claimed that she was delivered through breech birth.

According to the mother of three, the facts simply did not add up, and then there was her maternal instinct, which kept whispering to her that something was not right. 

The persistent feeling of suspicion turned into a certainty when, in a twist of fate straight out of a Bollywood film, Gerbeno ran into Veronica Tejada at the clinic when the two came in for a checkup.

The new moms struck up a conversation and soon realized that the birth weights of their respective infants matched up to the ounce.

Determined to uncover the truth, Gerbeno made a criminal complaint and had a judge order DNA testing, which confirmed last week that the babies had been accidentally switched at birth, according to Clarin.

In preparation for the exchange this week, Gerbeno and Tejada have been talking on the phone and swapping photos of their babies.  

‘I spent three weeks with a baby that was not my daughter but I gave her all my love and knew that the other mom would do the same,’ Lorena Gerbeno told the local station C5N.

On Monday, the two women and their spouses finally met in court to be reunited with their children.

The private San Juan clinic has admitted that a 'mistake' had occurred and stated that it is cooperating with the investigation. Both the Gerbenos and the Tejadas are now considering legal action against the hospital.

Lindsay Lohan Sued Over PCH Car Crash

Lindsay Lohan has more legal woes -- TMZ has learned she's just been sued over the accident where her Porsche rammed into an semi-truck.

You'll recall, Lindsay was late for a Malibu shoot for the movie "Liz and Dick" when she roared up Pacific Coast Highway in a black Porsche 911S at speeds that exceeded 60 MPH.

As it was sometimes ago reported that Lindsay lied to cops and said she was a passenger in the car and tried to frame the person who was driving with her. Cops discovered pills in her purse and a water bottle that reeked of booze. Witnesses also said there were pills scattered in the trunk.

The truck driver, James Johnson, claims he was injured and suffered great physical, mental and nervous pain. He's suing for unspecified damages.

Rape Victim Commits Suicide In Bayelsa

An 18-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by three unidentified boys, has committed suicide in Amarata, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

It was learnt that the victim was an indigene of Oduali community in Abua/Odua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The deceased was said to have hanged herself because of the trauma she experienced after the incident. A source said the victim was raped at gunpoint in an uncompleted building.

“The three boys forced her into an uncompleted building and raped her. Everything about her changed from that day. She was devastated after the incident.

“When she told her sister and the husband her experience, her sister’s husband, who is a pastor, asked her to describe any of her attacker and she described one of the boys.

“The boy was traced to his home, but he absconded. The pastor counseled her and promised to pursue the matter to a logical conclusion,” the source, who pleaded anonymity, said.

Michael Jackson is KILLING IT in the graveyard ... making more money than any other dead celebrities in Hollywood, including Liz Taylor and Elvis, this according to Forbes.

Kanye West Asked Kim To Be His Wife

Kim Kardashian is officially on lock down  again as Kanye West pulled off a huge birthday surprise by renting out an entire baseball stadium and asking Kim to marry him Monday  evening.

Kanye reportedly borrowed AT&T Park -- home of the San Francisco Giants -- and popped the question in front of family and friends and she said a big  yes!.

E! first reported the engagement ... which comes 4 months after Kim and Kanye's daughter North was born -- and 18 months after they went public as a couple.

Monday was Kim's 33rd birthday. This will be her third shot at "till death do we part," and Kanye's first.
The question is, will Kim stay married???
