Nigerian Government and The Culture of Silence In Face Of Terror
Growing up back in Ondo State, South west Nigeria in the 80’s
in a village in Ikale, Okitipupa Local Government Area of the State, we
constantly see herdsmen around the village with their tiny sticks which they
used to control their cows. The highest weapon they had then were knives, known as daggers; the purpose for
which they were moving around with
daggers was because they constantly use it to let their cows loose in case they
are stuck in the bushes where they graze. Fulani herdsmen were friendly at that
time, anytime the villagers expressed displeasure at their conducts, they were
quick to apologies and leave immediately without returning either to graze or
cause any form of havoc to the inhabitants of such community.

African Youths and Politics: Get Involved In the Steering of the Ship
A boat or a car becomes
useful only if it is driven or sailed by individual or group with a destination
in mind. When a passenger is aboard a ship without knowing or even asking about
the destination of such a ship, he or she becomes like a floating canoe in the
middle of ocean without anyone to steer, in this case, any direction the wave
goes becomes a destination and usually don’t end well.
Many youths in Africa and
other developing countries have started taking the bull by the horn by
participating in their country’s electoral process and making impacts through
elections wins, which enable them to steer their country’s policy direction to
suite the present generation without any form of derailment.

even though the words ‘FOR BETTER FOR WORST’ were not pronounced on the
intending couples by the priests or pastors, rather by the parents and family
of the bride and groom, but it sank into their brains.
