Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's Wife Files for Divorce Over Adultery

After months of speculation over the marriage crisis between Christ Embassy’s Pastor, Chris Oyakhilome and wife, a new report claims the wife has now filed for a divorce in a London court.
In a report published by Gistmania, the wife is seeking a divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery”.
She allegedly outlined several allegations against the Pastor which cannot be published for legal reasons.
The divorce case, with Suit No FD14D01650, was filed on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, on Anita’s behalf by Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, a full-service law firm with expertise in commercial law and a strong consumer focus in family, wills and estate, personal injury law and medical negligence.
According to the report, Pastor Chris had been making efforts to avoid divorce in the hope that the wife would eventually have a change of mind, however, Decree nissi was served on the charismatic pastor in his hotel room during a recent visit to the UK.
Decree nissi, in legal terms, is like a yellow card in a football match which is a precursor to a red card (“decree absolute”) if no new evidence is provided to stall proceedings.
Church insiders said Oyakhilome had been hoping for rapprochement, but he was left with no option than to receive the papers when the lawyers cornered him at his hotel in London. The decree absolute, which will effectively end the marriage, is expected to be issued soon while terms of the divorce will be worked out by the lawyers on both sides.
Anita recently wanted to go public with the details of her allegations against the husband but reached an informal agreement to sheathe her sword in the interest of the church.
Recall that some church members had sometime in May 10, 2014 launched a facebook campaign, asking: “Where is Rev. Anita Oyakhilome?”
They said Pastor Chris and Rev. Anita must unite “for the sake of the gospel, the church and their two beautiful daughters”. They quoted Malachi 2:16 in the Message Bible: “I hate divorce, says the God of Israel.”
The facebook page, which has over 3,300 “likes”, was opened with a stated mission: “This is a Call to Prayer for all believers who understand God’s heart concerning marriage and a Call to Action by Pst. Chris. #DoWhatYouPreach”.
Officials of the church quickly moved to deny any rift between the pastor couple. One official, Kenneth Achumasara, told the media last June thus: “I can tell you authoritatively that there is no issue between Pastor Chris and his wife, Anita… If you go to the UK now, you will see her along with the kids. She is still with him and there is no issue between them. I have been with him for 22 years and the Pastor Chris I know cannot even utter such words as reported. He will never address such a gathering. She will soon be in Nigeria for a programme and I will definitely invite you to have access to her.”
Oyakhilome is the President of Believers’ Love World Inc, the registered name of the Christian ministry, while his wife is the Vice President.

3 Hotel Attendants Docked For Recording Customer’s Sexual Escapade

Three hotel attendants, who allegedly recorded a customer’s sexual affair and demanded a ransom of N10 million, were on Thursday charged before an Ogudu Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

The employees had used the hotel’s CCTV to record the guest’s sexual exploit with his girlfriend.

The accused: Sunday Okon, 23; Rita Emmanuel, 28; and Goodness Akpan, 24, whose addresses are unknown, are facing a four-count charge of fraud, demanding property with menace, conspiracy and indecent practices.

Prosecutor Uche Simon told the court that the accused had on Aug. 13 at a hotel in Ogudu area of Lagos conspired to record a guest while sleeping with his girlfriend.

According to him, the accused produced a VCD on it which they circulated to residents of the area.

He alleged that they also demanded a N10 million ransom and threatened to post it on the facebook if the man failed to part with the money.

“The accused actually posted it on the facebook between Aug. 13 and 23.’’

Simon said the offences contravened Sections 136, 166 (d), 299 and 409 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The  accused may be sentenced to a minimum of three years each on conviction.
The three men pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

NAN also reports that the three attendants were taken to Kirikiri Prisons pending the fulfillment of their bail conditions.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O. J. Awope, adjourned the case to Sept. 19 for mention. (NAN)

Diamond Bank Partners DHL to Create Logistics Solutions for Businesses

Diamond Bank Plc, Nigeria’s leading retail Bank, has entered into partnership with DHL Global Forwarding to ease financial and logistics burden faced by manufacturers and businesses during importation of goods and raw materials.

The product, Diamond Logistics Service, would allow business managers and owners, particularly in the manufacturing sector, to concentrate on their key business operations without being distracted by the demands of the supply chain. The new solutions would involve both payments and logistics benefits.

Speaking at the signing ceremony in Lagos, Uzoma Dozie, Deputy Managing Director, Diamond Bank Plc, said the key objective of the new service was to provide convenient payment and delivery services to their customers in need of logistics.

“Diamond Bank Plc is interested in creating the convenience for our customers for their importation activities. We discover that most businesses dissipate needless energy, time and resources on their freight forwarding activities to the detriment of their core business concerns. They experience challenges in payment, cargo clearing and movement to locations. These are issues that this new service will tackle,” Uzoma stated.

Speaking further, he said, “Diamond Bank would handle the payment for all importation transactions while DHL handles the logistics involved. The security of the goods imported would also be guaranteed. Customers will have time to focus on their core deliverables and be more competitive in their own field.”

While speaking on the service, Sylvester Idoko Onoja, Head, Trade Products, Diamond Bank Plc said, “Diamond Bank is doing this to ensure that customers are not distracted from their core business objectives. The logistics hassles would be taken off their “To-Do” list. The supply chain process is cumbersome for customers. The Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises must be encouraged to grow sufficiently; this product will take the burden of importation off their shoulders.”

In her remarks, Sukhvinder Kaur, Chief Financial Officer, DHL Global Forwarding West Africa, said the new service would engender a revolution in the manufacturing industry in the country, adding that the pedigree of both Diamond Bank and DHL would make the Diamond Logistics Service the toast of customers.

She said: “DHL GF understands that logistics and finance are specialized fields that should be managed by people with remarkable track record. This partnership will ease the challenge of manufacturers and other companies in Nigeria that import goods. We would create a seamless movement of goods till delivery to their destination of choice.”

Witches’ Chop Off Indian Father’s Hands And Burn Him Alive In Front Of His Son

A coven of witches chopped off a man's arms and burned him alive when he asked them for help treating his sick 10-year-old son, police say.
Brijlal Chopra's wife and son told police they watched helplessly as he was stabbed repeatedly and hacked with axes before the witches set him on fire with kerosene-soaked rags.
'They were laughing and dancing around his body to music while he screamed in agony. In the end there was just a pile of ashes left,' said a police spokesman in Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, the closest city to where the ritual slaying happened
Mr Chopra had sought out the local witchdoctor - known only as Parvati - for treatment for his 10-year-old son, said police.
But as soon as the family reached her commune, Parvati branded Mr Chopra a rival sorcerer and ordered her disciples to kill him.
