Quickteller Has Become A Fraud?

It was Friday, March 7^th 2014. I have had a hectic day at the training I went for at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. After the training, I checked my phone, boom, there were a lot of miss calls that I needed to return. After maneuvering my way through the traffic, I got to a STANBIC IBTC ATM in Ogba and immediately parked so as to recharge my MTN phone with quickteller service.

When I inserted my credit card the first time, the message that displayed shows “transaction cannot be completed” and my card was immediately ejected by the machine itself and I was debited. I repeated it, the same thing happened again. I tweeted at them, no reply and all attempt to make them communicate reasons for these unnecessary deductions without service has so far failed.

I Never knew that my case is one out of plenty, when I discussed this with my friend Joe, he said he has had the same experience.

My research shows that various people have fallen victim of Quickteller inept attitude and unnecessary deductions without crediting the victim .

I interviewed about 15 people and about 10 of them have had that experience without any explanation from Quickteller or the bank that  was used.

The painful thing about this is  not the money, but the act of total disregard for we the users of Quickteller.

Colonel Gadhafi’s Son Is Returned To Libya To Face Corruption Charges After Extradition From Niger

His head shaved and his hands bound by shackles one of Colonel Gadhafi's seven son's was today extradited to Libya, where he is wanted on corruption charges.

Al-Saadi Gadhafi fled when his father's regime crumbled in 2011 and has been held under house arrest in Niger ever since.

Libya had been seeking the extradition of Saadi, Gadhafi's third son, who escaped following the NATO-backed uprising.

'The Libyan government received today Saadi Gadhafi and he arrived in Tripoli,' the cabinet of Prime Minister Ali Zeidan said in a statement.

Al-Saadi, 41, and the former head of Libya's football federation, is being held by judiciary police forces, the government said.

It thanked Niger for its cooperation and said al-Saadi would be treated according to international justice standards for prisoners.

The authorities said al-Saadi - one of the deposed Libyan leader's eight children - will be treated 'in accordance with international law'.

A Libyan official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations, said al-Saadi arrived at Tripoli's airport in the early hours of today and was transferred to a prison in the capital.

The website of a government-backed militia showed what it said were pictures of al-Saadi wearing a blue prison uniform, calling him a criminal.

Libyan news websites also ran pictures showing guards shaving his head in prison.

Al-Saadi was known for his love of professional soccer and a playboy lifestyle.

His brief career in Italian football ended after a failed drug test. He headed Libya's Football Federation and was also the former head of the country's special forces.

Like most of Gadhafi loyalists and ex-regime officials, al-Saadi is wanted for his role in curbing protests against his father's rule and the killing of protesters.

But unlike his brother, Seif al-Islam, who was groomed to be Gadhafi's successor, al-Saadi is not sought by the International Criminal Court.

Seif al-Islam is held by a militia in the western Libyan town of Zintan, which refuses to hand him over to the central government for trial.

Al-Saadi joins Seif al-Islam as the only of Gadhafi's children currently in Libya.

At least three other Gadhafi's sons were killed during the uprising while the rest of the children sought asylum in neighboring Algeria, along with Gadhafi's wife and al-Saadi's mother, Safiya.

The mother, a sister and two brothers, were granted asylum in Oman in 2012 and moved there from Algeria.

Niger had previously refused to comply with Libyan requests for al-Saadi, saying that once he was back home, he might be killed.

Musician Claims He Is Michael Jackson’s First Son, Says He Has DNA To Prove It

A singer once praised as the 'reincarnation of Michael Jackson' has claimed he is the dead star's son.

Brandon Howard, whose mother is pop singer Miki Howard, is said to have 'groundbreaking' DNA evidence proving he is the King of Pop's offspring, TMZ reported.

Ms Howard is said to have met Jacko in 1982, shortly before Mr Howard was born in 1983.

Howard Weitzman, Jackson's estate lawyer, told TMZ: 'We've never even heard from him," when asked about Howard's claim.

He added that 'any deadline for claiming to be Michael's child has long since passed'.

The results of the DNA test are due to be revealed today live on FilmOn.com at 12pm Pacific time, 8pm (GMT).

The artist known as B Howard released a statement today through his manager Scott Broomfield of Musical Star LLC.

He said: 'To my fans, family, and friends, despite recent allegations, I did not authorize the testing of my DNA to be compared to that of the late Michael Jackson nor did I contact TMZ regarding the publication of the story.

'This spring, I agreed to be a part of a documentary with FilmOn.TV and was asked to give a sample of my DNA.

'Even though I agreed to this I never expected it to be used in this manner.

'To this day, I have never claimed to be Michael Jackson's son nor do I have any intention of pursuing the family's estate.'

The estate has been estimated as holding $17million in cash and earning $600million in revenue.

Mr Howard has long been compared to the Billie Jean singer, but has said in the past the similarity is not intentional.

Soldiers Open Fire On Protesters In Southern Kaduna

 Violence broke out in Southern Kaduna this morning as hundreds of youths and women took to the streets to protest the shooting of locals by some armed soldiers stationed in the area. 

The protests followed a shooting incident that occurred in Manchok, a small town on the border of Plateau state.

The protesters were said to have cycled the soldiers after they shot indiscriminately at locals injuring two students and other locals, many of whom were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

A source at the scene said that the women and youths barricaded the road connecting travelers around Vom-Manchok road to Kafanchan and Abuja while others converged at the palace of the chief to demand justice.

10 People Killed Again, As Gunmen Attack Plateau Village

 Gunmen yesterday killed 10 people and razed many houses when they attacked four settlements in Rim district of  Riyom  Local Government Area of Plateau State. They entered Torok Gwon, Gwarama, and Gwarim, all in Rim district, the same manner other villages within the vicinity had been attacked in the past.

The bandits shot their way into the village as the residents ran for their safety. Some of the attackers were said to be wearing army uniforms.

Reacting to the attack, The Majority Leader of the House of Assembly and the member representing Riyom, Daniel Dem, who is from Rim district, described the attack as unprecedented. He said there was a strong indication that military men might be involved in the attack; otherwise, the gunmen would not have gained access easily into the area because of the fortification putting place.

“I can tell you authoritatively that soldiers were involved, other-wise, they would not have gained access to the area the way they did”, Dem lamented. He said those burnt to death were mainly children and women.

Beyonce's Dad Says He Is Poor Now, Begs Judge To Lower His Child Support

Mathew Knowles -- who once made millions of dollars a year as Beyonce's manager -- just got his child support slashed because his income has plummeted in radical fashion.

Knowles asked a judge to reduce the $12,000 monthly child support he pays to baby mama Alexsandra Wright, with whom he has a 3-year-old son. 

Knowles -- who made $3 million a year before his daughter fired him  in 2011 -- now says he pulled in a relative paltry $127K in 2013. 

And, Knowles says, even though his income has been slashed, his expenses remain sky high -- $51,000 a month.  To make up the shortfall, he's liquidating his assets.

The family court judge apparently validated his financial plight, and reduced his child support to $2,485 a month. Not great news for Alexsandra, who's been getting $300 a month in food stamps.

Jealous Husband Stabbed His Wife 19 Times In The Neck Over Infidelity - Manchester Court

A 'jealous' husband stabbed his 'Westernised' Muslim wife 19 times in the neck after he discovered she was having an affair, leaving her six-year-old son to find her, a court heard. 

Farkhanda Younis, 30, known to friends as 'Jabeen', was killed in a 'ferocious' attack at her home in Chadderton, Oldham, in the early hours of April 19 last year.

Her body was found after her six-year-old son, who cannot be named for legal reasons, rang 999 because he couldn't rouse her and her bedroom door was locked.

Jahangir Nazar, 35, who married Ms Younis in an Islamic ceremony in 2012, has admitted manslaughter but denies murder in a Manchester Crown Court trial, claiming his responsibility was diminished by mental illness.

The prosecution said the takeaway delivery driver's behaviour after the killing, when he allegedly withdrew money, disposed of blood-soaked clothing, and filled up his car, shows a 'mental agility' inconsistent with his account.

John Jones QC, opening the case, described Nazar as a possessive, controlling and violent partner who set up a mobile phone as a 'listening device' to check up on Ms Younis when he was out.

He was also said to have been facing deportation and to have believed that marrying Ms Younis in a British civil ceremony would secure his stay in Britain. The court heard that hours before her death, she met up with another man, who was also married, for sex to 'celebrate his birthday'.

In that time, Nazar tried to call her 25 times, but none of the calls were answered.

When she returned home, it's alleged, Nazar was 'lying in wait for her'.

Mr Jones said: 'It's clear that Jabeen and the defendant had entirely different attitudes to life - it's clear from others who witnessed the couple that the defendant was very possessive and very controlling of Jabeen.

‘She was far more Westernised, outgoing, and one has to say, promiscuous in the conduct of her life, if what other witnesses say about her is correct.

‘That is not said in a critical way. Jabeen was entitled to behave in a way she chose, this is not a court of morals or a judgement on her lifestyle.

‘But the fact remains that Jabeen lived in every sense an entirely Westernised lifestyle, she went to nightclubs, she had many boyfriends, she drank alcohol, and she wore Westernised designer clothing. It's clear she was a very attractive and flirtatious woman.

‘Nazar resented it and sought to control it, and on the night in question, it led to uncontrollable rage.

‘The end result was was a significant attack by a man fearful of deportation, jealous of of other men, and  resentful of the promiscuity of his girlfriend.’

A mother-of-five has a rare skin condition which means she can draw on her own skin and watch it disappear - like an Etch a Sketch.

Sarah Beal, 43, from Arley, Warwickshire, has such sensitive skin that the slightest scratch can cause it to swell.

But she has also realised that the condition - known as dermatographia - allows her to create patterns and pictures on her skin which disappear within an hour.

Dermographism or 'skin writing' is a type of urticaria, or hives - where a raised, itchy rash appears on the skin.

Ms Beal said: 'My skin is so sensitive that sometimes even clothes can feel uncomfortable.

“When I lie in bed, the quilt can feel like needles pressing into me.

'I can scratch my arm or my back and long lines will come up on my arms where I’ve scratched.

 'But I think being able to draw on my skin is so cool - it’s my party trick.

She added: 'The etch a sketch comparison is pretty accurate - although I wish a good shake was enough to get rid of the itching.'

Dermatographia is thought to be caused when the cells under the surface of the skin release histamines under the slightest pressure.

Histamines are chemicals released in the body as part of an allergic reaction, causing the skin to swell.

'I grabbed a spoon from my kitchen draw and with the handle I drew a heart on my arm.

'When I saw the heart appear on my skin I loved it.

'It becomes quite itchy and sore afterwards, but I thought it was so interesting to see it stay on my skin like that.

'I quickly took a picture of it and uploaded it to Facebook before it disappeared. I have tattoos so I quite like the idea that you can draw on your skin.

'My friends and family think it’s really fun too.'

Ms Beal  who runs a cake and confectionery company, takes no regular medication to control her sensitive skin.

She said: 'At the moment it’s quite bad, but I just grin and bear it.

'When it really flares up, clothes and bedding can be the most painful - it feels like my skin is filled with needles or tiny bits of glass.

'Some jewellery can be very painful to wear too, especially around my neck.

'I’ve also got two little dogs, and just the tiniest scratch from them can be agony.

'But I do like the fact that I can draw on my skin - it’s a little bit quirky and different, a great conversation starter.'

Matthew Gass, from the British Association of Dermatologists, said: 'Dermographism or “skin writing” is a type of urticaria.

'Swelling is caused by the release of histamine from cells in the skin called mast cells.

'In this type of urticaria, itchy weals occur after friction such as rubbing or stroking the skin. This itching may be aggravated by heat.

'Weals and red marks also often appear as lines at the sites of scratching, and generally last for less than one hour.'

He added: 'Antihistamines block the effect of histamine, and reduce itching and the rash in most people, but may not relieve urticaria completely.

'If urticaria occurs frequently, it is best to take antihistamines regularly every day.

'There are many different types, including non-sedating and sedating antihistamines, in addition to short acting and long acting types.

'The antihistamine tablets can to be taken for as long as the urticaria persists.'

President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked  the Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi .

Dr. Tamuwo Danago, one of the 11 newly sworn in ministers, has therefore been directed to take over from Abdullahi.
