Andre “Christ Bearer” Johnson, a rapper in the California duo
Northstar, was reportedly found on the sidewalk outside of his North Hollywood
apartment after apparently jumping off a balcony early this morning (April 16)
in a suicide attempt.
He survived the fall, though Bearer is critically
injured—currently recuperating at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Even more
startling is that the report claims that he cut off his penis before jumping
off the balcony.
Northstar is a relatively unheralded group—affiliated with
New York’s iconic collective the Wu-Tang Clan—that made most of their noise in
the early 2000s, when Wu-member and chief producer RZA functioned as their
champion by producing the bulk of their debut album “Bobby Digital Presents
Northstar” in 2004.
