A police officer in Charleston, South Carolina, Michael T.
Slager was charged with murder on Tuesday after a video showed him shooting an
unarmed black man.
The 33-year-old policeman lied in a police report, stating
that he had shot the victim, Walter Scott, 50, because he had forcefully taken
his taser from him during a traffic stop, and was scared for his life.
However, video footage of the incident shows that Slager shot
Slager 8 times while he was running for his life. Slager had also lied that he
tried to administer CPR to the victim. However, the video showed that this was
false.
