A gang of seven armed robbers yesterday March 2 invaded The
Vine Branch Church in Yemetu, Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria.
According to
eyewitnesses, the robbery gang stormed the church around 12noon while the
service was going on; they collected offerings and tithes and then ordered
the congregation to lie on the floor.
The resident Pastor, Sola Kolade confirmed the incident and
said some members of the church sustained injuries. A police officer was said
to have been killed during the robbery operation which lasted for about 15
minutes.
