MTV Base has announced that its awards show and music
celebration - MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) will be coming up on Saturday, 7th June 2014 at the Durban International
Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban, South Africa.
The awards
ceremony will feature performances by some Nigerian superstars alongside other
African and International artistes.
The award
is in thirteen categories including Best Male, Best Female and Best New Act. The “MAMA Leadership Award”,
“Personality of the Year” and “Transform Today by Absolut”, will be given to
young individuals who have helped transform the image of Africa.
The first MAMA
which saw Artistes like D’banj,
P-Square, Fally Ipupa, 2Face Idibia and Cabo
Snoop going home with different categories of awards was held
in 2008.
