When a popular brand of Energy drink, Power Horse, came to
Nigeria some years back, it was known to be a very good energy booster and a
source of reviving for people who consume it. Due to the high demands for the brand, especially from people who are active,
like sports mean/women, Entertainers etc. The Nigerian market has witness an
influx of different brands of Energy drinks overtime. Some of them according to
NAFDAC are dangerous to health. This is not only affecting the good brands, it
has also instilled fear in peoples’ mind and also discredited the pedigree of
good brands of Energy drinks in the market. In the same vein, some of these
energy drinks in Nigeria have been banned from the countries where they are
produced due to their negative side effects and they are daily flooding
Nigerian market. Is NAFDAC doing its job?
