OSRC Workers Lock Out DG Over Poor Welfare

Workers of the Ondo State Radioviosion Corporation (OSRC), on Monday locked out the Director-General of the Corporation, Ladi Akeredolu-Ale for neglecting their welfares since 2010.

About 50 police officers with 2 Armoured Personnel Carrier and 5 police patrol vans were stationed at the main gate of the Corporation to forestall breakdown of law and order.

According to the protesting workers, "We don’t  know what is happening to the revenue of the station when workers welfare are not prioritised, training and re-training have been put on hold since 2010, when the newsroom ranks as the worst among its peers, when no worker is enjoying his work.” The board of OSRC, yesterday, met with the workers on ways to find solutions to the crisis.

The workers however called on the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, to intervene in the crisis which they attribute to collapsing structure, equipment at the studio, transmitter and the poor office accommodations which termites had turned to their home.
